PALOS HILLS, IL -- A Chicago Ridge man resisted arrest after he disobeyed orders to stop beating two other people at a Palos Hills bowling alley, reports said. Andrew Kernats, 57, was charged with aggravated battery to a police officer, resisting arrest and criminal damage to property.
Palos Hills police responded to a report of a fight around 5:30 p.m. Feb. 15 at Palos Lanes, 11025 Southwest Highway. According to reports, Kernats hit two people at the bowling alley. When Kernats disobeyed orders to stop fighting, police said Kernats slugged the officer, and pulled him to the floor, damaging his "equipment."
The people on the receiving end of Kernats' alleged punches did not wish to press charges. Kernats was charged for hitting the cop, reports said. Kernats appeared in court for a bond hearing on Feb. 16.
