Andrew High School T-Bolts served notice they are for real cruising notching their second straight lopsided victory Friday in their home opener vs the Oak Forest Bengals. Andrew improved to 2-0 with their impressive 40-8 Friday night.

Prior to the game, both schools honored area First Responders with an on field ceremony. The Police and Fire Chiefs, as well as many rank and file First Responders from Orland Park, Tinley Park, Oak Forest, and Orland Hills were recognized.

As for the game, Andrew wasted little time getting on the scoreboard when QB Trevor Griffin ran 48 yards for a touchdown on only the second play from scrimmage of the game. Griffin's run would ignite the T-bolts offense and would be followed by two touchdown runs by RB Rocco Iannantone of 1 and 2 yards each in the 2nd Quarter, and a 48 yard TD pass by Griffin just before the end of the first half. The T-Bolts took a 29-0 lead into the break.

Oak Forest QB Juan Avila got the Bengals on the board with a 36 yard TD pass, followed by a 2 point conversion to cut the Andrew lead to 29-8 in the 3rd Quarter.

However, Griffin answered for the T-Bolts when he found Nick Persha for his second TD pass of the night from 33 yards out. Andrew lead 37-8 at the end of three quarters.

Andrew Place Kicker Peyton Benes completed the scoring with a 35 yard Field Goal to close out the T-Bolts 40-8 win.

In other south suburban scores, Hillcrest held off a spirited Sandburg bid for a second straight upset 22-14, Richards knocked off Catholic League power St. Rita 35-28, Lincoln Way West best Evanston 38-24 in New Lenox.
