230 United to Host Bears-Packers Watch Party Sept 5 at Girl in the Park

The Green Bay Packers will visit the Chicago Bears to open the NFL's 100th season on September 5, 2019

230 United, the political arm of the highly successful District 230 Board of Education members, Tony Serratore, Melissa Gracias, Susan Dalton, Patrick O'Sullivan, Kate Murphy-Peterson, David O'Connor, and Mike Hardek, will host a Watch Party for the Bears-Packers season opener at Girl in the Park, 11265 West 159th Street in Orland Park on Thursday, September 5th. Doors open at 6:30pm, kickoff is at 7:20pm.

The Bears and Packers are the NFL's longest rivalry, and will be the inaugural game as the league celebrates its' 100th season in 2019. Green Bay holds the advantage in all time play between the two clubs with 97 wins. The Bears have won 95 times vs the Packers and the teams tied 6 times. Two of these meetings have been playoff games. Chicago won 33-14 in the 1941 Western Division Championship Game at Wrigley Field, while Green Bay defeated the Bears 21-14 in the 2010 NFC Championship Game at Soldier Field.

Tickets are $55/person and includes appetizers, craft beer, and other beers, wine, and soft drinks. Also, guests will be able to participate in a game of squares, Split the Pot, and a raffle that will include two tickets to a 2019 Notre Dame football game. Touchdown sponsors are $500, Field Goal sponsors are $250 and First Down sponsors are $150.

"230 United is excited to host this watch party for one of the best rivalries in sports," said D230 Board member and 230 United member Mike Hardek. "Girl in the Park is one of the best restaurants in the southwest suburbs and our guests will enjoy a unique experience watching the game."

Hardek also stressed there is limited capacity for this unique event, "There is room for only approximately 70 people. It will be a great night out with fantastic Girl in the Park experience, and hopefully equally great game."
